Afternoon of April 27 2023, Professor Zhang Yongkang of Guangdong University of Technology visited Laser Base for exchange. He was received and accompanied by Cai Yan, Office Director of Laser Base, and other relevant team members. Professor Xue Wei, Director of Laser Base, attended the symposium.
Accompanied by Office Director Cai Yan, Professor Zhang Yongkang learned about the operational model of Wenzhou University Laser Team, where Laser Manufacturing Discipline serves as core, Laser Base as main platform, and Laser Institute as main battlefield. He also visited base's experimental center and gained detailed insights into the applications and related achievements of the WZU Laser Team in laser micro-nano drilling, complex surface etching, and aerospace blade surface strengthening.
Subsequently, Professor Zhang Yongkang delivered an academic presentation titled "Research on Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Talent Cultivation for Carbon-Neutral Offshore Energy Equipment." He elaborated on floating manufacturing, crude oil transfer, offshore wind power technology, and their applications in response to national demands and focusing on marine equipment. He also summarized the experience of research supporting teaching and serving the development of dual-carbon economy.
During exchange meeting, young doctorals from Wenzhou University Laser Team engaged in in-depth discussions with Professor Zhang Yongkang on laser manufacturing technology in the field of marine equipment, and shared their research findings and experiences with each other.
