Afternoon of February 13 2023, Wenzhou University Laser and Optoelectronic Intelligent Manufacturing Institute (hereinafter referred to as "Laser Institute") held a launching ceremony for the Attracting Talent and Intelligence Project "Sino-Japanese Cooperation on Power Components" in Wenzhou University International Science & Technology Cooperation Base for Laser Processing Robot (hereinafter referred to as "Laser Base"). Local investors in Wenzhou, Prof. Ma Guang, Dean of Laser Institute, Japanese R&D involved companies from Tokyo and Kyushu of Japan, and Chinese participants in the project communicated via video link on the landing of power component project. At the exchange meeting, Chinese and Japanese both sides reached a preliminary consensus on joint venture, which will be followed by the establishment of a joint venture company in Wenzhou to promote project, and Japanese team will officially start research and development work according to domestic demand.
The landing of project is expected to seize the opportunity of localisation of key components of domestic new energy vehicles and facilitate the transfer of key technologies of Japanese power components to China.
In recent years, Laser Institute has relied on Laser Base to carry out extensive international cooperation, and has now established close international cooperation with a number of foreign research institutes and enterprises, including Russia, Singapore, United States, Germany and Japan.
