The hot summer day could not resist the sincere enthusiasm of the 30-year teachers and students' reunion. In August, when the summer is not yet over, more than 40 graduates and teachers of Wenzhou University 89 electromechanical teacher class gathered together and held a 30-year reunion at the laser base on the 15th floor of Wenzhou University Science and Technology Complex on August 13.
On the occasion of the reunion, Prof. Xue Wei, former Vice President of Wenzhou University and Director of Laser Base, as the director of the 89 electromechanical teacher class, together with Mr. Chen Hongyi, Director of Alumni and Development Liaison Office, Mr. Zhou Rong, Secretary of the Party Committee of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Mr. Huang Wei, Deputy Secretary of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Mr. Zhang Zhaosheng and Mr. Lu Guanghua, retired teachers, and Mr. Cai Feng, President of Alumni Association of School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Wenzhou University and General Manager of Zhejiang Baian Technology Co. Ltd. represented by more than 30 graduates of Wenzhou University 89 electromechanical teacher class participated in this activity.
At the beginning of the activity, the alumni of Wenzhou University 89 electromechanical teacher class first visited the University History Museum to revisit the development history of the school and pick up the memories of the past in the long river of years. After that, they came to the Hair Embroidery Museum to learn about the national intangible cultural heritage of Wenzhou, which is known as "the best in the world", and to feel the rich folk connotation and unique charm of transmitting emotions.
In the afternoon, the seminar was opened by Chen Hongyi, Director of Alumni and Development Liaison Office, who introduced the construction and development of Wenzhou University to the students and teachers. She introduced the development of Wenzhou University from the development history of "merger of two universities and integration of seven universities", the advantages of discipline width, degree thickness and regional temperature, "key construction university in Zhejiang Province", "doctoral degree granting unit", "overseas Chinese characteristics", "the development of Wenzhou University" and "the development of Wenzhou University". "The three goals of Wenzhou University are "quality depends on students, level depends on talents, characteristics depends on disciplines and status depends on contribution". After that, Zhou Rong, secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, led the audience to review the history of the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering from five aspects: rags to riches entrepreneurship, moral cultivation style, talent cultivation achievements, introduction of disciplines and scientific research and service to local economy. He said: "From the establishment of the mechanical teaching and research department in 1985 to the new round of discipline evaluation in 2022, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering has experienced the first teacher class in 1989, the first enrollment of mechanical majors in 1993 to achieve the three-stage jump in the enrollment of undergraduate students, and from the earliest mechanical design to the development of mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, vehicle engineering, intelligent manufacturing and mechanical engineering (internationalization). He led the audience to review the 20-year history of the development of laser manufacturing as the characteristic direction of mechanical engineering discipline, and proudly said that in the past ten years, the laser direction has made rapid development, and the laser base has formed the main body of the laser manufacturing discipline, the main position of the national international scientific and technological cooperation base of laser processing robot, and the main battlefield of the Institute of Laser and Photoelectric Intelligent Manufacturing.
