The invention provides a laser cutting method for toughened glass, which comprises the following steps: (1) arranging laser cutting beams assisted by cooling jets on both sides at the starting point of toughened glass to be cut; (2) laser cutting is carried out along the path to be cut of toughened glass according to the set laser processing process parameters; The machining process parameters include power density p and cutting speed value v; (3) When the laser cutting beam approaches the end point of the path to be cut of toughened glass, turn off the laser first, and then turn off the strip cooling jets on both sides when the strip cooling jets on both sides reach the end point of the path to be cut of toughened glass. According to the invention, a method of forced cooling by two-side cooling jets is utilized, so that two-side tensile forces are formed on the original irradiation position of the center of the slit, so that a steep tensile stress peak σ appears at the center position; when the cutting speed value v is greater than the macroscopic cracking traveling speed of the toughened glass, the toughened glass is cut according to the cutting track, and the technical problem that the toughened glass cannot be cut at present is solved.
