Abstract

Superhydrophobic structure was prepared on stainless steel surface by ultraviolet nanosecond pulsed laser and assistance of low surface energy chemical modifier.  The influence of different laser scanning process parameters and subsequent chemical modification methods on the surface wettability was investigated. The results showed that:  It is attributed to the rapid cooling mechanism of the melt injection liquid falling back to the surface in the local melting region, which is abundant on the structural surface of the laser etched micro-grooves  Richb nano - scale particles and burr - like nano - scale structure;  With the optimized laser scanning process parameters (energy density of 0.9j /cm2, scanning interval is 50um, etching times is 7) , the static contact Angle of 163.3° and rolling Angle of 8° can be achieved by using stearic acid for subsequent chemical modification.
