Abstract

A new metal-organic framework, [Zn2 (NDC)(BDT)]n .4DMF (TMU-18) (NDC = 1,6 naphtalenedicarboxylate, BDT = 1,4-benzeneditetrazole) was synthesized and characterized using elemental analysis, FT-IR and X-ray crystallography. The thermal stability of compound TMU-18 was studied by thermal gravimetric (TG). TMU-18 was used for loading the I2 by suspending it in a solution of I2 in cyclohexane. The delivery of I2 from TMU-18 performed in ethanol at room temperature. The loading and unloading of I2 were investigated by UV/vis spectroscopy.
