Wenzhou University and Trumpf Group of Germany initiated the joint construction of the Engineering Research Center of Laser Advanced Manufacturing Technology

On the morning of June 30th, 2016, the preparatory meeting of Wenzhou University-German Trumpf Laser Advanced Manufacturing Technology Engineering Research Center was held in Conference Room 6-A503, School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.

Mr. Kuang Lianting, Deputy Director of Wenzhou Science and Technology Bureau, Mr. Andreas Weller, General Manager of Trumpf Laser Technology Co., Ltd., Mr. Royce Lee, Sales Director of Trumpf Electronics/Medical Services, Ms. Sun Hanyu, Executive Director of Wuhan Chutian Industrial Laser, Mr. Wu Rangda, General Manager of Pentium Laser (Wenzhou) Co., Ltd., Director of Science and Technology Department of Wenzhou University Hong Zhenjie, leaders of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Zhou Hongming, Li Fengping, Feng Aixin, and related teachers of Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Laser Mechanics and Robot/International The meeting was presided over by Professor Feng Aixin, leader of the specialty discipline of laser and optoelectronics in Wenzhou University.

 Andreas Weller, general manager of Germany Trumpf Laser Technology Co., Ltd. introduced the background and ideas of the construction of the laser advanced manufacturing technology engineering research center. The leaders of Pentium Laser (Wenzhou) Co., Ltd. and Wuhan Chutian Industrial Laser introduced the application market development of laser advanced manufacturing technology and the foundation of school-enterprise cooperation mode. Vice President Li Fengping of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering introduced the research and development work foundation of Zhejiang Key Laboratory of Laser Mechanic Robot of Wenzhou University/International Cooperation Base of Ministry of Science and Technology.              

Participants fully realized the importance and necessity of the construction of the Engineering Research Center for Advanced Laser Manufacturing Technology, and conducted in-depth and systematic exchanges and discussions on its organization, operation mode and working mechanism, workplace, responsibilities and rights of all partners, research and development plan at the initial stage of cooperation, operation mechanism, technology promotion of laser technology in Wenzhou laser and optoelectronic industry cluster, fund raising, planning of major research and development plans, etc., and reached a comprehensive and extensive consensus, and implemented the specific preparatory work for the next stage.

On behalf of the Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Dean Zhou Hongming introduced the research and talent base of the laser team of the Institute and made a statement. Director Hong Zhenjie introduced the basis of the school's scientific research work, and elaborated the promotion ideas of the school's "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" to serve Wenzhou 510 industry and laser photoelectric industry cluster, and gave specific guidance to the construction of the laser advanced manufacturing technology engineering research center. Deputy Director Kuang Lianting of Wenzhou Science and Technology Bureau made a concluding speech on behalf of Wenzhou Science and Technology Bureau and China (Wenzhou) Laser and Optoelectronic Industry Cluster.

Deputy Director Kuang Lianting introduced the communication and coordination work of the partners in the early stage, and fully approved the concept of Sino-foreign cooperation mode, functional orientation and service for regional industries of Wenzhou University-German Trumpf Group Laser Advanced Manufacturing Technology Engineering Research Center and gave the specific guidance to local governments for supporting the construction of Sino-foreign cooperative laser advanced manufacturing technology engineering research center.
