Recently, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology announced the list of outstanding performance evaluation results for the Provincial Key Laboratory (Engineering Technology Research Center) for the years 2019-2021. The Zhejiang Province Key Laboratory of Laser Processing Robots has been recognized as excellent.
In this performance evaluation, a total of 267 key laboratories and 74 engineering technology research centers from across the province participated. Led by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the evaluation process included self-assessment, expert review, and other procedures to assess the talent cultivation and infrastructure development, research activities and innovation outcomes, public services, and economic benefits of the key laboratories and engineering centers for the period of 2019-2021. The evaluation results identified a total of 64 key laboratories and 4 engineering centers as excellent. The Zhejiang Province Key Laboratory of Laser Processing Robots is one of only two labs in Wenzhou that received this recognition.
The Zhejiang Province Key Laboratory of Laser Processing Robots is based at the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Wenzhou University. It relies on the Wenzhou Key Laboratory of Laser Manufacturing Technology and Equipment and the Wenzhou Engineering Technology Research Center of Manufacturing Systems and Automation. The laboratory aims to create a comprehensive platform that combines fundamental research, applied research, and technological development to promote original innovation. It also serves as a platform for talent cultivation and technical support, facilitates domestic and international research cooperation and exchange, and effectively promotes the development of laser optoelectronics and intelligent manufacturing in Zhejiang Province, ultimately benefiting the Zhejiang economy. In the past two years, the laboratory has secured funding for 7 national-level projects, 16 provincial and ministerial-level projects, 14 municipal-level projects, and 56 horizontal projects, totaling over 26 million yuan. The laboratory has published 125 academic papers, including 114 SCI-indexed papers, and has been granted 171 national invention patents, including 2 PCT patents.
