Recently, Airuisen, a national third-party university evaluation institution, released the complete list of high-contributing scholars in the 2023 Alumni Association's List of Chinese Scholars. A total of 6917 outstanding scholars from universities across the country were selected, distributed among 524 institutions, covering 98 primary disciplines in 12 subject categories. Professor Xue Wei from College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Wenzhou University was selected in the field of Mechanical Engineering under the category of Engineering.

Professor Xue Wei, PhD in Engineering, Foreign Academician of the Russian Academy of Engineering, a recipient of the Special Government Allowance from the State Council, and the former Vice President of Wenzhou University, currently serves as the Director of the National International Science and Technology Cooperation Base for Laser Processing Robotics. He is also in charge of several provincial and ministerial-level scientific research platforms. He has been engaged in research on laser intelligent manufacturing for a long time, undertaking more than 20 national key projects, international cooperation projects, and other research initiatives. He has received over 10 awards, including the China Patent Gold Award and the First Prize of the Zhejiang Province Science and Technology Award. He has been granted more than 60 invention patents, including 2 patents from the United States, and has published over 190 academic papers, including over 100 SCI papers.

The Alumni Association's List of High-Contributing Scholars in China was first released in 2022. It is currently the only list in China that selects outstanding scholars from universities based on their "teaching and research contributions." The selection of high-contributing scholars in China is based on the systematic achievements and contributions made by Chinese scholars to the country's economic and social development. It evaluates outstanding scholars from Chinese universities from multiple perspectives, including education, academic research, and social services, using 19 evaluation indicators.
