December 16 2022, with "Coming to Wenzhou - Creating the Future" as the theme, the 2022 Global Elite Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Grand Final was held successfully in Wenzhou Oujiang Red Party-Building Talent Complex. Dr. Wang Yanhu of Laser Base's "New High-Efficiency Stranded Wire + Powder Synergistic Arc Equipment Supplier" project stood out among 32 projects that advanced to grand final and won the second prize, then signed a landing contract with Ouhai District Science and Technology Bureau. This is another award for WZU laser team projects after winning the first and second prizes last year.
The competition is hosted by CPC Wenzhou Municipal Committee and Government, undertook by Organization Department of Municipal Committee (Municipal Talent Office), Municipal Science and Technology Bureau, Municipal Economic and Information Technology Bureau, Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau, Municipal Science and Technology Association, counties (cities and districts) and provincial industrial clusters, guided by China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition Organizing Committee Office. The 2022 Global Elite Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition is held around the construction of large incubation cluster, to create a platform for exchange and display, capital assistance, project incubation and industry-talent docking, through a combination of zone competition, industry competition and grand final competition. Since its launch in June, the competition has attracted more than 2000 high-level talent projects from United States, Germany, Japan, Russia and other countries and regions, as well as relevant domestic provinces and cities, involving new fields such as intelligent equipment, new materials, life and health. After the evaluation by the competition organizing committee office, 32 high-quality projects with high technical content, high development potential and clear landing intention were selected to advance to the grand final. The competition invited 7 main judges, consisting of industry experts, venture capital experts, entrepreneurs and heads of large incubator operating institutions. The grand final produced 3 first prizes, 6 second prizes and 12 third prizes.

At present, it has formed a new pattern of "One Body Two Wings" with Laser Manufacturing Discipline as the main body, Laser Base as the main front and Laser Institute as the main battlefield. In recent years, it has undertaken more than 200 projects at all levels, established close cooperation with more than 160 enterprises, transformed more than 70 achievements, provided services amounting to more than 50 million yuan, and incubated more than 20 enterprises.
